Les ailes de la résilience

Each spring, common terns return from Africa to nest on floating rafts installed on the reservoir of the Verbois dam. Born from human dedication, this refuge has become a key site where the colony displays remarkable resilience in the face of the challenges of the modern world. With the arrival of black-headed gulls forced to seek new shelter on Lake Geneva, a fragile coexistence begins to emerge between the two species.

Resume

On the reservoir of the Verbois dam, a strange floating neighborhood is preparing to welcome its seasonal residents. After spending the winter along the African coasts, common terns return each year to nest on artificial rafts specially designed for them. This discreet refuge is the result of several decades of human commitment and has become essential to the species’ survival.

But climate-related changes on Lake Geneva are forcing a small population of black-headed gulls to seek shelter on these already highly coveted platforms. As coexistence gradually seems to take hold, the Verbois colony is confronted with a series of events that put its fragile balance to the test.
