During the nesting period, the rives du Rhône form a wooded and wild cordon where a rich and diversified fauna takes refuge, as well as a good number of citizens in need of greenery.
In Verbois, the Sterne pierregarin takes possession, during April, of two rafts specially designed for her, the first of which was already installed in 1979. The Great Black-backed Gull is present all year round and a pair always tries to nest among the terns; but the nest and eggs are systematically removed so as not to compromise the nesting of the latter. Recently, it has recently moved to one of the islands of the Etang Hainard, at the Moulin-de-Vert.
