Documentary | 34' | 2015

Camargue, 1947. A 24 year-old biologist Luc Hoffmann bought La Tour du Valat, 1500 hectares of swamps and salt marshes at the heart of the Rhone River delta.

His project: Study and protect these ecosystems, rich in biodiversity.

From the beginning of the 20th century on, urban, industrial, agricultural and tourism development destroyed more than half of these wetlands.

Wetlands are the most productive ecosystems on the planet. They provide us with incalculable ecological benefits.

Discover this unique laboratory where, for more than 60 years, scientists, naturalists and technicians from all horizons have conducted scientific research that has transformed our understanding of how these unique habitats work.
